Über das Programm Informations- und Kommunikationstechnologien (IKT) stellt die EU in den nächsten beiden Jahren innerhalb des 7. Forschungsrahmenprogramms Fördergelder in Höhe von 2 Milliarden Euro für europäische kooperative Projekte und den Aufbau von Netzwerken im IKT-Bereich zur Verfügung. Bibliotheken sind insbesondere als Antragsteller innerhalb des Challenges 4 angesprochen: Hier werden u. a. der Aufbau von digitalen Bibliotheken und Content, das technologiegestütztes Lernen und Forschungsprojekte zur Langzeitarchivierung gefördert.

Als erste Orientierung finden Sie unten eine Übersicht über das geplante Themenspektrum für das IKT-Arbeitsprogramm 2009-10 (vorbehaltlich möglicher Änderungen). Das IKT-Arbeitsprogramms 2009-10 befindet sich noch im Abstimmungsprozess und soll Ende November 2008 (ICT 2008 Konferenz in Lyon) veröffentlicht werden. Es enthält die IKT-Forschungsthemen für die nächsten zwei Jahre verteilt auf voraussichtlich drei Ausschreibungen:
